Max Andersson (SWE) & Hugo Tormento (FRA) - ARK SWIMRUN -  showed why they are the World Champions and why they without a doubt are the best in the world. Today, they won their 7th consecutive race this season making them the first team to win every race during the whole season.

Ever since the first ÖTILLÖ World Series in Malta (in 2019) we have been challenged by the weather. Each year the conditions have been perfect in the days leading up to the race and then race day has been a challenge.

It was no different this year. The forecast has been clear all week, gale force winds and rain squalls from the west during the weekend. On Wednesday, all race courses were changed to adapt to the new reality, where all parts of the course impacted by winds and big waves from the west were taken out.

A race day with lots of wind, waves on some swims and rain squalls all day set the stage for a very tough race day for all racers. No matter if you were at the front or at the back. In the end all of the favorites managed to walk away with wins in each category.

The Winners

This last race of the season saw the Swedish/ french duo - Hugo Tormento (FRA) & Max Andersson (SWE)) - Team ARK Swimrun -  pull away after about 40 minutes to take the win in the 31km World Series race.  Their winning time was 3:06:16., ten minutes ahead of the french team of William Even (2nd at the World Championship) & Matthieu Poullain - Team Matt & Wiwi.
