One Water Race
Teams Announced for the Second One Water Race
Press Release / 12.04.2023
The team line up has been announced for the second One Water Race and there are some familiar names, both from the first race and from the world of Adventure Racing.
Although the race is open to 10 teams, the organisers have decided that this year only 7 of the teams entered meet their criteria to stand on the start line of the 'World's Toughest Challenge'.
That's to swim and run as a team of 3 through the Stockholm Archipelago from Arholma in the north to Landsort in the south, a distance of 250 km.
Race founder Thomas Ogander said, " We cannot be flexible about the level required and allow teams that do not meet the established criteria. Of these seven teams, my assessment is that at least five of them will be able to reach the finish line.
This year we will be even stricter in terms of maintaining high speed throughout the race with ruthless time cut-offs. This will place higher demand on the competitors. All teams entered have the capacity and experience for the distance and disciplines - but being able to keep the pace nonstop and not make any navigational errors will be crucial.
A constant development of distance and time is what is required in our endeavour to always deliver the ultimate proof of human capacity."
Race dates are August 22-24th and these are the teams who will start the race.
