Looser and Le Court hold on while Stutzmann and Stosek Sweep to Victory

In its 10th edition, taking place from 15 – 29th of August 2023, the SPAR Swiss Epic is one of Europe’s premier mountain bike stage races. The five-day stage race takes in 339km and 10.850m of climbing. A total of 600 riders in teams of two, from 45 countries, amongst them the best marathon mountain bikers like the current European Marathon Champions (XCM) Adelheid Morath (GER) and Wout Alleman (BEL) as well as a lot of national champs and aspiring amateurs.
The route of the SPAR Swiss Epic 2023 leads over the breathtaking trails of Switzerlands Canton Graubünden and crosses the Alps from Lenzerheide to St. Moritz before the event reaches its traditional conclusion in the town of Davos. The 5 days of scintillating mountain biking offers a unique alpine scenery in the heart of the alps.
In the UCI Men category the top teams were in the mix for the stage win once again. In the end, the dominating team throughout the whole week, Canyon Northwave – Swiss Champ Marc Stutzmann and Vice World Champion Martin Stosek (CZE) took home the coveted final stage win and are the new overall Swiss Epic Champions. In second Team Wilier Pirelli, European Marathon Champion Wout Alleman (BEL) and 2022 Swiss Epic winner, Daniel Geismayr. Coming in third today and overall, team Bulls – Simon Schneller (GER) and French national Champion Axel Roudil Cortinat.
Being the strongest team of the whole week, Elysator Efficient Infinity Insure: Vera Looser (NAM) & Kim Le Court (MRI) are the well-deserved winners of the final stage and the 2023 Swiss Epic champions. Despite being in pain, Kim Le Court made it through the last one and a half stages and can name herself now Swiss Epic champion alongside Vera Looser.
They are the first team to win the Cape Epic and the Swiss Epic in the same year. Coming in second with one stage win, Team Torpado | Bulls, Lithuanian Marathon Champion Katazina Sosna and Irina Lützelschwab (SUI). Team Cannondale vas Arabay Women: Monica Calderon (COL) & Tessa Kortekaas (NED) completed todays stage podium on third.
