Hooked on the Outdoors wins the 2004 New Balance BEAST of the EAST, finishing the race in first place at 1302 on Friday. Racing together as a team for the first time, they said the race was awesome, the duckie paddle, toward the end was the best part. They had a couple of problems along the way, flat tires, chain breaks, etc. yet, they managed to work through them and complete the race ahead of the others.

The team made up of Bryan Goble, Shannon Greenhill, Matt Schaltenbrand and Brian Reiss reported that they feel great. Bryan, their main navigator did an awesome job. He didn’t take them one mile out of the way. He nailed the course.

They wanted to thank their support crew who was awesome, amazing, Mark Cartwright who fixed their bikes, their wives, families, and friends not just for their help at the race but for all the assistance with training and putting up with them after the race. They said “we were lucky meaning they had great support. They also had thanks for Joy, for designing an awesome course, Bill for running the show and especially for Hooked on the Outdoors for sponsoring them.
