Max 24 Hour Adventure Race Sydney
Mud Sweat and More Sweat

The drive to Buladelah 3.5hrs north of Sydney was anything but pleasant, a series of torrential downpours had us doubting a pleasant start to the race.Due to the geography and geology of the venue the rain didnt stay on the ground, most soaked in or formed pools in the later sections of the MTB but this certainly didnt slow the pace.
After the initial race planning and packing of gear boxes (we discovered we would have 2 gear drops on the course) the race got under way at 12.30 and started with a paddle in Sevylor K79s.
After the initial rush for the water the pace settled down with Team Buzz, Mountain Designs and Millie setting the pace, however Terra X, Drivers, Geo Warriors, Blue Edge and Aussie Bodies were all close by.
On completion of the paddle teams then received \'gear box A\' containing flippers and the like for the boogie board leg, a first in Aussie AR and now a personal favourite. Teams had to then swim the channel with boogie boards and cover approx 1.5km to Johnson\'s Beach where they continued on foot back to Bombah Point for another brief dip, before arriving back at HQ and the transition to MTB.
Once on bikes everyone followed a main ridge line back towards Buladelah township and the imposing mountain behind it.
At this point only 40 mins. split the first 3 teams with Buzz then Mountain Designs and Millie all 20 mins apart. The abseil involved a short traverse and climb on fixed ropes then a quite spectacular abseil above the township some 30 plus metres back to terra firma.See All Event Posts
