Patagonia Expedition Race
The North Americans are here – all of them!
Jacqueline Windh / 21.02.2005

February 20 2005, 9:00 p.m Breaking news from the finish line of Patagonia Expedition Race. The Canadians, King’s Own Calgary regiment arrived here at 6:18 p.m., and the American team Fukawi followe a short hour and ten minutes later. All are smiling and happy – limping around on bruised feet from all the walking but in good spirits.
Menetue-Optimum Nutrition (Chile) did not make the cut-off to PC9 at Cabo Froward and have been disqualified. Teams Globalstar and Le Groupe, disqualified for needing assistance to navigate to PC8, are being transported here from Froward by boat, and Menetue will follow in the morning.
In total, three teams of the eleven who started completed the race.
Night is closing in and our last support boat is leaving – my last chance to send this report off to civilization. But stay tuned tomorrow for more of the racer’s comments...See All Event Posts
