Swedish smorgasbord for Montrail

The sun is overhead as Martin Drexler and Team Montrail walk into TA4 after completing the orienteering section. He grins and stops when he spots race director Mikael Nordstrom.

“Hey, Mikael, this next bike leg: pretty straightforward? Any surprises?� he asks.

“No, it’s okay,� says Nordstrom.

From the start, the race has maintained a very fast pace. The orienteering section, by contrast, brought the team down to a slower pace.

“There was a fair bit of bushwhacking, and that slower pace really helped us recover,� Rusch says. “And the bushwhacking itself wasn’t that hard. I guess by most people’s standards it was still insane, but it was pretty normal for us.�

Montrail finished the orienteering section and managed to stuff themselves full of food to boot.See All Event Posts
