Bull of Africa
Just Getting There
Lisa de Speville / 08.06.2005

We have 21 days before the start of The Bull of Africa, in the Richtersveld region of the Northern Cape Province in South Africa. That means that we have 16-odd days before teams start to arrive. It has been an interesting week and our experiences are certainly no different to any other event. A thoughtful theme is developing…
Yesterday (Thursday) morning we received confirmation that Raid the North/Helly Hansen (Canada), Supplierpipeline (Canada), Holofibre (Canada), HardTale (Australia), Martin & Scheepers (South Africa) and Subaru (South Africa) were no longer coming to race.
Contributing factors include: organisational difficulties, team mates with family and/or work commitments, injured team members and financial constraints.
Behind the scenes too team-mates and team names have been changing with great frequency.
Highlights include:
- Team Nokia’s Petri Forsman makes up the 4th in Cross Sportswear (Sweden)
- Team Montrail’s John Jacoby replaces Mark Collins from Team Mazda Salomon (South Africa). Michelle Lombardi takes over the role of team captain See All Event Posts
