Saab/Salomon wins Arctic Team Challenge 2005

ARCTIC TEAM CHALLENGE 2005 IS OVER!
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL TIMES ARE UNOFFICIAL UNTIL RATIFIED BY THE JUDGES.
At 8:04 AM Wednesday morning, Saab/Salomon crossed the finish line and became the winners of Arctic Team Challenge 2005! Their total time is 39 hours, 20 minutes and 14 seconds. Amazingly, Andrew Schofield paddled the last part of the race with one hand, as he fell and broke his other hand just before entering the canoe for the last part of the race.PharmaNord/Inu:IT crossed the finish line between 10:26:26 and their overall time is 40 hours, 17 minutes and 40 seconds. Also an impressive accomplishment!

Pikkori Sport/Neriusaaq came in at 18:58:36, finishing in a total time of 60 hours, 06 minutes and 07 seconds.
66 North/Jabberwock - a combination of three 66 North members and one from Jabberwock - crossed the finishing line at 01:35:41. They were out of rank, however.

At 2:10:50 AM Thursday morning, the last two competing teams, Bird\'s Eye and Arctic Ladies, crossed the the finishing line together. They looked so happy and proud. Their final times are 68 hours, 04 minutes and 09 seconds for Bird\'s Eye and 68 hours, 54 seconds and 38 minutes for Arctic Ladies. For the past two checkpoints, the Ladies had been helping getting Bird\'s Eye along, cheering them up by singing and keeping up high spirits.

Four teams have left the race:
Brian Clarke of Jabberwock had to exit the race before the last stage due to his injury on the glacier on Stage3.
Cindy and Cobus van Zyl of Jabberwock quit at Checkpoint D4. 1 member of team 66 North also quit the race at Checkpoint D4. Allen Doyle of Team Jabberwock joined up with the remaining three members of 66 North to finish the race out of rank. 
Team Siku and Team ACG Ilulissat have also quit the race due to injuries (not serious injuries, thankfully).
