Teva Adventure Series - Brisbane
Mud, Sweat and Smiles at Brisbane Teva Series
Geocentric / 17.10.2005

The event began with two obstacles in quick succession involving copious numbers of balloons, bangs and cooperation between teams. Teams quickly hit the road and pedaled furiously into the forest. Here the event really began as teams traversed waist deep puddles, slid around on mud churned roads and completed the trade mark Teva Challenges. At the front of the field, the lead was never in doubt as team Mountain Designs steadily stretched their lead through out the event. Behind them, it was a different story as teams jostled through out the event for position. Any mistakes made on Teva obstacles proved critical as it meant several teams would pass.
It was vital for teams who were after a solid result to use good tactics in the obstacles. Front runners spent as much time completing obstacles as they did biking and running. Teams were met with tyre tubes, river crossings, cargo nets and monkeys, all with their unique set of challenges.
At the end of the day 90 teams crossed the finish line with white toothy grins standing out on black muddy faces. Many believed the inclement weather made the event a lot more fun as the whole way was one giant obstacle. “The rain the mud and the slop just made it! It looked dodgy on the way up there...but turned out great in the end! Glenn Singleton, Competitor
The Teva Series now heads to Melbourne and Sydney over the next two weekends. The series finishes up with a championship race on the Gold Coast in November.
