Pre Race Briefing for a Midnight Start

Less than five hours before the one-hundred and sixteenth event of OAR Events, and all the teams are ready to go. The Beast of the East is a landmark adventure race in the United States. With the largest Adventure Racing prize purse, excluding, of course, The Primal Quest, the Beast of the East is becoming a Beast to contend with in the Adventure Racing community.

This race, starting at midnight tonight, October 22nd, 2005, is OAR\'s forty-seventh adventure race and the forty-fourth race over twenty-four hours long. Ronny Angell, who took over OAR Events this year, is proud to bring the Beast to his home state and his home terrain. He hopes that new comers to the race will enjoy what he has brought to the table, and be more than happy to come back for future races. For alumni to OAR Events, Ronny hopes they will continue to enjoy the Beast and appreciate what the new management has to offer. Many of the past OAR Events management have come to support Ronny in the new look and feel of the races.

The terrain for this race will be fun and technical, but, as Ronny said,\"Very DOable\". The first 3 placed team will receive part of the $10,000 prize purse, and as well as a qualifying spot in the United States AR Championship next year on the West Coast.
