These Teams Are All Over Virginia

At the end of day two, teams are spread out all over the course. Even though all teams seem to be in the middle of the Bike Leg, that is a 110 mile section of the course. From the first place team to the last, the time distance is over fourteen hours.



Three teams have dropped out of the race, two more since the last update. At the last report, we found E-CAPS withdrawing from the race because of an injury. Since then Team 50 - Towanda, the all girls duo team, dropped out at CP7 at 12:08pm because they didn\'t feel prepared enough for the cold afternoon and night ahead. Even though the day was half over, they had to assess the course and the weather, as all teams do, to see if they are properly prepared. And Towanda did not feel they had sufficient gear to sustain the night.



Team 9 - DNF, the soloist keeping the rest of the racers on their toes, was forced to drop out of the race due to Hurricane Wilma. Head Quarters received a call from Allen Musil\'s wife from Florida. Their house was in the path of the Hurricane and he decided to withdraw from the race to tend to personal matters.See All Event Posts
