Weather Continues to Dominate the Course

As day three comes to a close on The Beast of the East, Team Simon River Sports maintains their lead event thought the weather continues to worsen. This evening through tomorrow morning, the weather is reported to have lows in the thirties and highs in the forties. The clouds have rolled in and snow falls on the second bike leg.

The single trak trail is reported to be icy and wet. There continues to be a 50% chance of freezing rain or snowfall all night long. Wind gusts, presumably from Hurricane Wilma, are over 40mph.

Team Strike Anywhere arrived at 7:30pm to Checkpoint 15 and reported an injury to Oat Whitney. After being looked at by the race medic, it was thought he might have a broken metatarsel. He elected to withdraw from the race. There is still no report if Strike Anywhere will continue unranked with three team members.See All Event Posts
