Odyssey BEAST of the East
Simon River Sports maintains a Healthy Lead
Corey Rosen / 27.10.2005

Even with a five hour stop at CP22 to rest up and eat, Team Simon River Sports is still in First Place with as much as a ten hour lead. They arrived at 11:00am this morning to Checkpoint 23, seven hours later than their support crew had anticipated. They immediately replenished their water stores, put on their harnesses, and moved into the river. Approxamitely thirty minutes later, the team exited the water on the other side of the river.During a short break at the rivers edge, at the beginning of the Rope Assist, Simon River Sports was treated to a concoction of pasta/soup made from two different dinners the night before. Once the teams felt dry and comfortable, they clipped onto the rope and began their ascent.
It was nice to see the team in high spirits, especially when they got to the top. The Checkpoint Captain told them their Support Crew left a pizza and some McDonalds behind for them when they dropped off the bikes. When they went to pick up the box and bag, they fund it to be empty. The Checkpoint Crew got a good laugh and so did Simon River Sports.See All Event Posts
