The courses this year are set by Debbie Thompson (fixed routes) and Stella Lewsley (Score classes), two very experienced competitors, who have been working for months to come up with the best combination of routes within the competition area. “The going will be hard in this wet weather, Lewsley said, “but there are parts of the courses which are very fast, and the marshy areas are not extensive. There are no big areas of awful ground.
“I think the Score competitors will have to make some tough decisions right at the start, she continued. “They’ll have a real conundrum and whichever way they go, they’ll feel sure it was the wrong choice!\"
\"I try to plan so they have to think all the way around and have lots of controls. The ideal is that at each one they have at least 2 choices. I’d be terrible on this course – I wouldn’t know which way to go!
“We’ve used 100 controls in all and there are 60 on the 3 Score courses. Our biggest headache was the large out-of-bounds areas everyone has to go around, and the huge lakes of course – we have to go around those too!\"See All Event Posts
