Sunday the 27 of November saw the inaugural running of The Kodak Urban Max, based around the Sydney CBD and some of its fringing suburbs the competitors weren’t the only ones to be surprised.

The morning started in the usual fashion of late, in the rain, seems that the Aussie AR scene is doing a great job of breaking our drought lately.

Sydney siders were greeted by the usual smiling faces from organizers and volunteers alike, after some preparation by the teams laminating maps and stuffing them in map cases competitors were briefed on what faced them.

Teams of 2 were on foot, but allowed to use any means of available transport, so trains, buses, ferries, light rail and monorails were fair game, this was going to provide some welcome relief for many teams.

The course was based in and around the CBD, there were a series of Kodak Photo CPs, 10 in all, these were compulsory, the other CPs were composed from a series of 10 questions/activities, competitors had to answer or do enough to give themselves 500points. One CP was a mystery activity based North of the Harbour which was compulsory for all. Only once the 10 Kodak Photo CPs and the 500points were achieved could competitors then make a mad dash to the finish line back at St Andrews Oval on the University of Sydney grounds.
