Land Rover G4 Challenge International Selection
The All Round Outdoorsman
Rob Howard / 19.01.2006

Back in November, after a gruelling weekend in bitterly cold temperatures, 3 competitors were selected to go forward to the next stage of the Land Rover G4 Challenge. From these 3, only one will be chosen to represent the UK on the Challenge itself, after more competition and testing at the ‘International Selection’ week at the start of February.
SleepMonsters will be reporting from the selection week, which features competitors from all over the world, and in the coming days we’ll profile the 3 British contestants hoping to make it through to the ‘adventure of a lifetime’.
Brian Reynolds from Chesterfield qualified from the national selections with Andy Grieve and Susanna Madge and hopes his passion for outdoor activities and all round sporting ability will carry him through to the final stage.
As a youngster in the scout movement he gained confidence outdoors, and in addition to numerous camping trips, the activities he tried included climbing, abseiling, canoeing, micro lighting, light aircraft flying and orienteering.
During his university life at Nottingham Trent, Brian became President of Nottingham Trent Mountaineering club and joined a range of expeditions in the UK and abroad. Summer climbing at 5C/HVS max and winter mountaineering Grade I/II were regular occurrences and he was also a keen member of the Mountain Biking Club and represented the University.See All Event Posts
