The Big Chill Adventure Race returns to Bastrop, Texas on January 28th-29th. This year “Too Cool Racing “ has added an 8-12 hour category along with the 24-hour category which is in its second year.

This years field includes participants from Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, North Carolina, Virginia, California, and New York. Included in that group are; 2005 USARA National Champion, MOAT, Team Subaru of California, other Texas area powers like Team Vignette, Team Backpacker, STAR, HART Dead Reckoning, and several other solid contenders.

The forecast is for cold(by Texas standards), wet weather.

The 24-hour course will cover 70-90 miles. Disciplines will include mountain biking some of Texas best single track trails at Rocky Hill Ranch, full course navigation, a lake paddle, a scooter/skate leg, a tyrolean traverse, and tunnel caving was thrown at the last minute. Expected winning time is 18-hours, but “Too Cool Racing� has been known to challenge most teams right up to the 24-hour cut off.
