Inaugural Gold Rush 24 Adventure Pre-Race Report

The Cherokee Outdoor YMCA and the City of Woodstock will host an inaugural Gold Rush 24 Adventure Race and Pot of Gold Chili Cook-Off March 3 - 4, 2006. The race will be held in the Lake Allatoona, Pine Log & Allatoona WMA mountainous terrain. Proceeds will go to aid in supporting the Cherokee Outdoor Family YMCA Teen Adventure Leadership Program.

Over 20 two or three person teams are registered for the race. Teams range from two men to three person coed. An early season race, the Goldrush has drawn teams from as far away as Virginia. Teams are competing for cash prizes and the thrill of completing such a challenge.

On the race website, Race Director Toby Bramblett expressed his feelings on the race, \"My personal goal for all racers is to make them sweat and to feel a healthy motivation to finish while on course.\"See All Event Posts
