Team Spyder Leads X-Adventure Raid World Cup At End of First Day
John Michael Flynn / 18.03.2006

U.S./Australian team Spyder has established a commanding lead heading into camp on the first day of racing at the X-Adventure Raid World Cup series opener in South-Western Australia.Spyder leads Golite Timberland of New Zealand by 27 minutes and Saab Salomon by 33 minutes, a lead of defendable proportions in the fast paced abbreviated form of adventure racing which features at the Australian X-Adventure Raid World Cup race.
Team Spyder had the advantage of starting last night’s 90 kilometre mountain bike leg in the evening twilight, meaning navigation wasn’t as much an issue as it later became for teams further down the leaderboard. The team boasting two Colorado based Americans and two Australians posted the fasted ride time of the night and headed into camp on the Blackwood river with time to both sleep and dream of victory.
