Another leg sapping run stage through sand hills greeted competitors in the X-Adventure Raid World Cup this morning, as the race entered its final stages.

Stage seven saw competitors embark on a journey through spectacular coastal country between the iconic Cape Leeuwin and Hamelin Bay on Western Australia’s South-West coast and it was French team Sport 2000 Lafuma which produced the fastest time of 2.38.02 for the 24 kilometre journey.

After being deducted a fifteen minute penalty overnight, Golite Timberland (N.Z.) made up some time on race leader Team Spyder (USA), crossing the line in second place behind the French, but feeling the obvious effects of the tough Australian conditions.

“It was just hot and hard and running along the beach with soft sand was hard, Golite Timberland’s Marcel Hagener told Sleepmonsters.

“I enjoyed it more than yesterday’s run, still pretty hot, just a little more variety this time.See All Event Posts
