A 21 Map Course

After the finish of the prologue and back in the hotel, the route book and course maps were given out to the teams – and they had some work ahead of them as they were handed a roll of 21 maps!

Their task marking up the maps and understanding the route was made all the harder by the fact the maps overlapped, sometimes onto more than one adjoining map, and though most were 1:50,000, there were a few at 1:25,000. On the 3rd floor Halti took up a large area of floor in the lobby to align them all, recut them, and paste them together, but most teams will be using them as given.
