Everything is on track for an 9 am start tomorrow morning. The weather forecast for race day calls for partly cloudy skies and a predicted high of 96F (36C).

As racers arrive for registration one thing becomes really obvious to me. In adventure racing, registration has the feel of a family reunion. Adventure racers seem to bond on such a deep level with volunteers, competitors and team mates while out on the trail. When they get a chance to reconnect weeks or months later it seems like it has only been a few days since their last encounter. It was heart warming to sit through registration and see the level of mutual appreciation for such fun loving adventure meisters.

Explore the West is experimenting with some technology that will allow friends, family, sponsors and the general public to receive video updates while the race is taking place.
