Inside Infiterra Sports

Today, during the registration and gear check, I got a chance to talk to Luke from the Infiterra Sports team, and ask him a few questions about Adventure Racing and the Michigan Coast to Coast race.

Corey: Where did the name Infiterra come from?

Luke: Our name came from a brainstorm session. We were trying to combine the words "Infinity or Infinite with Terrain or Terra. It was either that or Mitten Sports. We all feel that we made the right choice!

Corey: How many events does your organization produce each year?

Luke: It varies by year. We produce three winter runs along with ten to fifteen clinics. As far as adventure races, there can be as few as four or as many as six. In all, we can have as many as twenty events year.

Corey: What makes Michigan and it's terrain unique to adventure racing?

Luke: Michigan provides variety. Not only does it have lakes, rivers, swamps, sand dunes, dense forest, and open forest. Here, Michigan provides something that makes all of our terrain even more interesting, unpredictable weather.See All Event Posts
