Canadian National Adventure Racing Championships
Stage Three Official Results
Doug Doyle / 02.06.2006

The day was hot and although the podium placement was determined (due to the number of hours between each team and being virtually impossible for any teams to make up the time disparity,) teams raced with a fierce intensity from the start and finish of stage 3 at the McIntyre Center. Simon River Sports continued to dominate their competitors by going anaerobic from the LeMans start onward, despite having a safe time cushion. At the finish line, Liza with SRS said the course was very, very fast and it was their intention to race as hard as they could, having seen the commitment of all the volunteers who put the time and effort to assist with this race and it was only fair from the SRS perspective they finish the course doing the best they can and they did just that, crossing the finish line with a stage three time of 4:01:50.
Their efforts ensured a solid first place finish for the inaugural Canadian Adventure Racing Championships.
Second crossing the finish line was Team 113, Milton Basement Racers with a time of 4:25:03. While this was an excellent time, their results will not count towards the combined Stage one, two and three results as they had withdrawn in stage two.
Third place for Stage 3 came across in 4:28:07, team Supplierpipeline.ca team 105. They will hold their overall second place finish having raced solid throughout the stages.
4th: Team Subaru: 4:33:41. Team Subaru will take third place overall. Team Subaru and Team Spirit Canada crossed the finish line together.
5th: Team Spirit Canada: 4:33.41
6th: Team Talus: 4:55:27. Team Talus is in the same circumstance that Milton Basement Racers were faced with as their results will not count towards the combined Stage one, two and three.
7th: RunningFree.ca: 5:11:03
8th: Adidas Canada: 5:20:58
9th: Survivorman: 5:21:40
10th: Terranauts: 6:03:30
The leaderboard will be updated and official combined stage one, two & three results will be calculated in the near future.
I will also prepare a stage three recap regarding the course and post it on the site to give you an idea of what the racers went through today.
At present, teams are now showering and getting ready for tonight’s’ post race dinner, awards and concert at the McIntyre Curling Rink where they will join family and friends, volunteers and race staff.
