Fast Paced Race to the Finish

Sprint races are usually fast paced and the Race the Rockies Urban Adventure was no exception. The four lead teams crossed the finish within 11 minutes of each other.

The final orienteering section gave many teams trouble and Team Regis and Kelly, who led for most of the race, opted to miss one difficult control to end the time loss that it was causing them. Veteran races, Team Lost in Transition, were able to find that particular control and claim the top coed team placing.

Team First Timers kept a quick pace while hamming it up with transition volunteers and ended up keeping their thin lead to win the all male category.

Second place finishers, Team Intentionally Blank managed to lug almost 70 lbs in food donations across the finish line. Teams were challenged with bringing a food donation for the Cerebral Palsey foundation on the final leg of the race. Every pound of food bought them a 1 minute time bonus to a maximum of 60 minutes. One team weighed in with 79 lbs of potatoes.See All Event Posts
