Infiterra Sports LLC announced details today on its 2007 expedition length event. The MIX...as in MIchigan eXpedition will replace the event formerly know as the Michigan Coast to Coast. The third annual event will be based in the eastern half of Michigan's beautiful and pristine Upper Peninsula. Going a little further north to the "UP" will mean a more remote and wild course, furthering the epic expedition appeal.
The Michigan eXpedition Race (MIX) will not follow the coast-to-
coast course design of the last two years but has been designed with a more traditional expedition format. The race will be a 4 day unsupported adventure race. "By going away from a coast to coast race, we will be able to have a central race headquarters. This will make race logistics easier for racers as well as staff. The unsupported format should make the event simpler for teams traveling to reach the event." noted race director Chad Lambert.
Race Director Luke Osborn commented: "This will be a must do race for any racers out there looking to challenge themselves with a high quality, fun, and exciting expedition race right here in the United States." Location: Eastern Upper Peninsula, Michigan
Divisions: 4 Person Coed
Total Race Time: 102 hours or 4+ Days
Course Length: 300+ Miles
Support: Unsupported race – teams will not need support crews
Prize Purse: $20,000 Cash & Prizes - Minimum $12,500 cash
Registration Opens: Monday, December 11th and is limited to 40 teams
