Unfortunately the roughness of the terrain on day 2 rendered the state of art satelite broadband system un-useable so we were unable to submit daily reports.



The Challenge is now into its final stage with 3 days left to ride to reach Uluru.



Race favourite, dutch rider Yapp Viergever is now over 3 hours ahead of his nearest rival, Benno Wauters and the temperatures, terrain and headwind has taken its toll on many of the riders.



Dave Norona retired on day 3 with a viral infection as did local rider from Strange Drilling Warren Strange. A crash late on in the day left Garth Barfoot with a fractured arm and unable to ride the last stages.



With a 100km stage and a 135km stage over the worst terrain to come the finale to this challenge is going to be a physical and mental test for all those left riding.See All Event Posts
