7 Cerros Medellin Adventure Race
HALTI have survived their 96 hr travel ordeal
Jacqueline Windh / 12.10.2006

Thursday October 12, 200612 hours before race start, the boys from Swedish team HALTI have finally arrived in MedellÃn. Their 96 hour journey was a result of fog, which delayed their first flight heading to Paris, setting off a chain of delays that had them arrive here 2 days late.
"Forget Murphy's law, Murphy has hit us over the head," said Captain Mikael Nordström, as he and team-mates Henrik Johannson and Pa Person hurriedly dug into a meal at the hotel restaurant. "Now we are here. We have our bikes, or the boxes anyway. We don't know if they are functioning though." However, two bags are missing: their poles and their food, things that at least are not critical, and Mikael's credit card has disappeared.
Frida seems happy to have her boys here... but she sure seemed to enjoy being captain for the day. "Because of a 'force majeur'' she smiled.
The boys had better get some sleep, because the Prologue race starts in less than 12 hours! Tomorrow's Prologue race will be a short relay, with skating, running, and go-carting (2 people, one pushing and one in the cart) legs. The whole race is expected to take under a half-hour, but $2000 worth of prizes goes to the winning team, courtesy of Une telecommunications.
Meanwhile, Antonio is pushing everyone to go out to "fiesta" tonight, but I am not sure that he has many takers...
