Stage 9 Warakuna to Docker River

With the usual morning headwinds finally abating, the riders on Stage 9 had a relatively easy ride over the mornings stage.
By mid afternoon however the tempertature had reached 37c and immediately upon criosiing the WA/NT border the road deteriorated into long sections of sand and huge corrugations, setting a worrying precedent for the following days 140KM stage.
The day was once again dominated by Hollands Japp Viergever with a 46 minute cushion over the next finisher.See All Event Posts
