Sandman AR in the Books

On January 27, 2007 over 50 teams arrived on a cold morning to compete in the Sandman Adventure Race. Teams competed in trekking, mountain biking, a ropes course and flatwater paddling. This years race featured a rogaine style course, teams could choose which section to tackle first and which checkpoints to attempt. With the cold weather most teams chose to start with mountain biking or trekking with just a few opting to begin the race on the water.

Teams were divided into two catagories, elite and beginner. Both divisions race on the same course with the elite division having some manditory checkpoints that the beginner division were not required to reach. Close attention to map detail was required for some of the route choices in the rolling hills of North Georgia.

When the 1600 cut off arrived over 45 teams had completed the race and were treated to a Bar-B-Q dinner. Final results are as follows:
