This course takes competitors to the parts of the Great Ocean Road region not visited by the tourists!

With $60,000 total prize money (including $20,000 for forst place) and paying all the way down to 10th, we think this 5 day race offers great value for prospective competitors.

There is a prologue on the evening of the 13th March at Port Campbell, followed by 3 discrete stages, the first one taking between 12 and 20 hours, the second one taking between 20 and 40 hours including some night time navigation, and the 3rd and final stage being of 6-10 hours duration.

For the traditional AR'ers among you, the swimming stages are short (1.2km maximum) and while important, will not make or break your race. Of the other core disciplines, they are evenly spread between running, mountain biking & paddling, with some awesome ocean paddles along the way to keep you excited.

Navigational components will exist in ALL stages other than the prologue, the course will not be disclosed prior to the race, however the general trend of the race is eastwards towards Torquay from its start in Port Campbell.

The course itself is awesome, with large sections completely contained within the Great Otway National Park. Don't be fooled by the apparently "short" 400km duration, for many it will feel more like 600kms. And don't expect to see much of the fabled Great Ocean Road itself either ...See All Event Posts
