Poland’s North Face Adventure Trophy starts on Wednesday, and the organizers have promised SleepMonsters daily live updates and photos from a wild and mountainous course that is sure to be spectacular.

The oldest adventure race in Poland, running since 1999, is approaching fast! This year’s course includes 300 km of trekking, MTB, kayaking and in-line skating through the beautiful Tatra Mountains, Podhale, Spisz and Beskid S¹decki.

Organizers have decided to maintain the North Face Adventure Trophy’s reputations as an extremely hard and demanding race, while at the same time making it possible for less experienced racers or simply beginners to participate in the race. So they have decided to organize two routes:
Masters – for experienced racers (teams of 4, at least one woman competitor), and
Amateur - aimed at beginners, with separate clasification for all-male teams, MIX teams (at least one women) and MV teams (combined age of competitiors at least 100 years).

The Masters route (about 375 km) will consist of 225 km MTB legs, 110 km of trekking, 10 km kayaking on mountain river (about 1,5-2 hours), 15 km rafting and 15 km in-line skating.

The Amateur route will be shorter - about 240 km, included 154 km of MTB, 76 km of trekking and 10 km kayaking.

Teams in both categories will be undertaking their final preparations tomorrow (Tuesday), so they are ready to start racing the next morning. There will be three days of racing - both categories start on Wednesday (May 2nd) at 10 am. Winners of the Amateur route are expected about 5 pm May on Thursday, and winners of the Masters about 2 pm on Friday. The finish line closes at 5 pm on Saturday 5th May.
