Following are reports from the field from last week\'s 3-day race. Be sure to check out the photos of this wild landscape posted in our Photo Galleries page.

Day 2
The last section of the second stage, along a high and exposed ridge was demanding. A few teams had withdrawn during the first stage, mostly because of health problems, simple exhaustion, or failing to show up at the CPs within the time limits. The slower teams had the additional challenge of having to travel the difficult ridge between CPs 5 and 6 during the night.

The third stage, orienteering on the slopes of Mt Magura Witowska and in the Pod Guba³owskie Forest, turned out to be even harder in the dark of night. Romanians team Grind fought hard, but they failed to show up at CP7 on time.

We expected the leading team in Transition Area A around midnight. Salomon Navigator finally had shown up three hours later.

Only nine teams left TA-A for the fourth stage, MTB, and after CP 11 they were down to just seven, as the Czechs of HI-TEC / Internet BillBoard withdrew because of injury, and Polish PartnerCenter.pl Adventure Team arrived too late at CP 12.

Kayaking on the Dunajec River, the fifth stage, surely can be regarded as one of the major highlights of this race. The first half of this stage was done in pairs, in ordinary two-person kayaks, and the second half in one-person, white-water kayaks. Quite a few times the racers ended up in the cold, fast-flowing mountain river.
