For the third year running, the organization of Réunion d’Aventures 2007 had to cancel the Trou Blanc canyoning stage due to the rains that had made the waters rise dangerously. We are starting to wonder if there is a curse. Thus, on this fourth day of competition, all three categories of teams, spent the day orienteering on foot.
The “Extreme teams were at the Piton d’Enschaing, the passes of La Fourche and Le Taïbit, the canyon of Bras des Etangs and the waterfall Fleurs jaunes. The “Adventure and “Discovery teams kept the Piton des Neiges as their main course before continuing on via the Cap Anglais and Terre Plate to Hell Bourg.
In the Extreme classification, where the same five teams are still in the race, Team 14 LES ARCS QUECHUA 1 has not only managed to hold on to the first position, they have also even further lengthened their lead on their pursuers.
There is no change either at the head of the Adventure classification, where Team 6 CAP OPALE 1 stays in the lead ahead of Team 9 ORCHIES WILSA CH’TI RAID. However, Team 18 COMME UN EQUIPAGE - FOUS DE BASSIN 2 are outside classification following injury to one of their team mates. The team is continuing the race in the Adventure course.
A huge upset occurred in the Discovery category, where team 2 XTREM BORDACHES lost two places to Teams 8 CH’TI WILSA and 21 RUN EVASION SALOMON KAFRIN, the only all-woman team, who are from Reunion Island. Another change: Team 7, CAP OPALE 2 and Team 1 LES CHAUV’SOURIENT REUNION, not having climbed the Piton des Neiges, are now outside classification. They are continuing the race on the Discovery course.
