The 2007 Adventure Race World Championship
Emotions run high in Glen Coe
Gary Vallance / 31.05.2007

Following the arrival and departure of team Nike on Wednesday evening, team Wilsa/Hellyhansen arrived in the dark, having slept at Rannoch Station and endured a difficult paddle and portage through the night. OrionHealth opted for an early start, the first team to arrive in daylight on Thursday just before seven, followed by Buff Coolmax and Bjurfors almost together just after nine.Having raced across the lochs in the company of fifth place Bjurfors, Buff Coolmax turned up, and to Emma Roca’s surprise was greeted by her husband with their seven month old daughter. Morale boosted to overflowing she hustled her team through a fast transition, leaving within ten minutes of third place OrionHealth, clearly still in the hunt for a podium finish.
Also preparing to leave were racers from retired teams Barclays Capital and Superfeet/Life is Good. Intent on making the most of the safety measures in place for the trek on Curved Ridge, they were all looking forward to tackling the Locahber classics at a relaxed pace.
