Kayak Lake Mead\'s Summer Night Race
race format/intro
Briana A. Finlay / 27.07.2007

Yes, yes, not for the timid. However, we at Kayak Lake Mead put a lot of thought into making this race as wet n' wild as is possible in the beautiful and seemingly bleak Mojave Desert of Southern NV. Here is a peek at the race format...your racers will be competing...
Starting with a Le Mans run - swim to boats - wet entry into boats to paddle to islands - paddle and tie (paddle around islands and portage across land bridges with one boat and one paddle per team) - to paddle leg across big open water with more land bridge options - to bike - to ride and tie - to canyon run - to swim orienteer - to canyon run - to bike - to ride and tie - road ride to Bootleg Canyon for a cycle-gain (an orienteering/rogaine course on bikes) on the infamous single track of Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, NV.
This last leg has a minimum requirement of CP’s for competitors to qualify as a finisher, and will keep lead teams racing close until the 16hr cutoff time of 9am Sunday Jul, 29.
