The Race Song - 300 Miles
Graham & Jackie O\'Hanlon / 03.06.2003

Graham and Jackie O\'Hanlon, having survived the hardships of marshalling the most luxurious Rush PC ever, once again came up with a great race song and performance. This one is to the tune of \'The Proclaimers\' song 300 miles. You really had to be there to know what some of it\'s about, but if you followed the race coverage you\'ll get most of it.
300 Miles
When I\'m trekking, yeah, you know I\'m gonna be,
I\'m gonna be the one who\'s trekking next to you.
And in my wetsuit, yeah, I know I\'m gonna pee
I\'m gonna shiver, shake and quiver, then go blue.
And when we\'re kit checked, yeah, you know it\'s gonna be,
It\'s gonna be just when your bag is on your back.
And when they\'re askin, yeah, you know they\'ll want to see,
They\'ll want to see what\'s at the bottom of your sac.
Yes I would walk 300 miles.
And with my bike, 300 push.
Just to be part of the team who go to make,
the race that\'s called \'The Rush\'
And when we get lost, yeah, I know I\'m gonna be,
I\'m gonna be the one who\'s blamed and made to pay.
And there\'s a glow stick, yeah, you know just what that means.
A glow stick means you\'re really going the right way (NOT!).
And when we\'re marshals, yeah, you know we\'re gonna wait.
We\'re gonna sit out on a field for days and days.
And if we\'re lucky, yeah, and finish all our jobs,
PC18 might feed us and let us stay.
But I would limp 300 miles.
My arms are tired, my arse is sore.
All because I thought a night with Five Sisters
Meant something something so much more.
And when we\'re driving, you better keep an eye on me.
You\'d better watch out when you think I\'m coming through.
Watch that van, that pump, that cliff-face, yeah, and that camera coming too:
\'Izzy the Lens\' is going to do a job on you!
And I would load 100 bikes.
And of your box, 100 place.
Just to be part of the team who go to make
Smooth running of your race.See All Event Posts
