\"World\'s Most Beautiful Marathon\" – as stated in Runners World UK March 96.
Stay tuned because on October 26th until Nov 2nd, One hundred miles of Indian Himalayas will be walked, ran, pedaled and most importantly remembered in the minds and hearts of the 71 foreign competitors and Journalists from 6 countries that will follow the race and report worldwide.

Mt. Everest Challenge Marathon, Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race and Bike Rally will be undergoing its 17th annual event. Since 1991, Mr. C.S. Pandey has been the director and organizer of this cultural exchange of sports, outdoors, and everlasting memories of one of the most awe inspiring locations in the world, a place where you can see 4 of the 5 highest peaks of this earth; Mt.Everest, Kachenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu.

One of the main highlights of this event is that it actually takes place amongst habited areas and the cultural interaction is very satisfying, one must always remember to respect the local traditions and be aware of local culture, therefore creating the least amount of impact one can manage. The Ministry of Tourism of India is a big part if this event working together with Mr. Pandey (Race Director and Owner of the Tour Operator) to showcase their beautiful country and get more people involved in sports, outdoors activities, and environmental awareness, things the world is lacking at the time.

Join us next week to look into this Race/ Experience and see what this country and the world have to offer. We will be acclimatizing at Mirik and Darjeeling area before the Race and staying a few days post event to get a good glimpse of New Delhi, Agra and other main attractions courtesy of Indian Ministry of Tourism and Race Directorate.
