Strong Brazilian Teams

Togumi / 20.10.2007See All Event Posts Follow Event
SleepMonsters do not have one of our regular international race reporters at Ecomotion, but we will do our best to provide coverage with the help of some friends, competitors and our Brazilian Editor, Wladimir Togumi. If news is a bit sketchy please bear with us!

Paul Romero, captain of Team Sole (USA), winners of Ecomotion Pro last year, said that Brazilian teams are getting better, making the life of international teams more difficult year after year.

\"The Brazilians get better each year and this has turned Ecomotion Pro into a very competitive race\", said Romero, one of the best adventure racers of the world. In 2006, Atenah had the best Brazilian result, crossing the finish line in 4th place.

\"Of course we\'re thinking of this year’s race, but our mind is already on Ecomotion 2008, the next AR World Championship. No other race of the world provides us with the same structure and quality as Ecomotion.\"

All teams have already made their registration and equipment checks and now await the race briefing, which will happen on Saturday Night and this is when they will received the maps and information about distances and disciplines.

Until Thursday the weather was warm with some clouds, but today (Friday) a few rain drops fell. It\'s a little colder too, but the weather forecast for Rio de Janeiro is that the rain will stop and athletes will have a very warm race.

The race starts on Sunday night in the city of Rio de Janeiro, approximately two hours from race HQ at Búzios.See All Event Posts
