Rain and Cold at the Mountains

Teams continued arriving at PC4 throughout the day, commenting on the difficulties of the canoeing stage and the long climb up to the PC. The change of tide and the delay in finding PC1, mounted in the wrong place, meant many of the competitors were caught in the mangrove. The second half of the first section of mountain biking has been a long uphill almost impossible to pedal. At the end of the afternoon a fog graduated from PC4 hindering further the progression of the slower teams.
Meanwhile the team leaders made the crossing of the mountains, between the cities of Petrópolis and Teresópolis.
Buff Coolmax surprised everyone and was the first to finish the hard mountain trekking. One of the support crew was in an internet house when the team arrived. \"It was very hard and fast. The leaders committed some errors in navigation and went over�, said Emma Roca, explaining their rise of 6 positions.
But shortly afterwards OrionHealth and Wilsa Helly Hansen arrvied. Suddenly it began raining strongly and the three teams made the transition and left together for the mountain bike. Because they will now ride on a highway, the support cars will escort the athletes for a section.
Team Sole and Merrel Wigwan were the next teams to arrive. “That was very hard. I feel really sorry for the people doing it in night time, cause is gonna a really hard navigation. Now it´s raining, it´s getting cold and it will be very difficult. But it was a beautiful day today�, said Jeff Mitchel when arrive in PC5, at the end of the crossing.
Because of the rain and cold, PC’s 8 and 9 were cancelled.See All Event Posts
