Howl at the Moon Adventure Race
2007 Howl at the Moon is in the Books

On Sunday morning by 0900 over 30 teams of the original 41 registered for the race had crossed the finish line. Team Semper Go took 1st place overall and 1st place in the 2 Person Male category. Team Travel Country Outdoors claimed 2nd place overall and 1st place in the 4 Person Coed Division. The race began at 1500 on Saturday with a short 1 mile Prolog run to help spread out the pack. Once they made it off the run racers were greeted with a river crossing of the Suwannee River. Thank goodness the river crossing was early as the temps began to dip with the sun. Once past the river crossing racers navigated their way across the terrain on a 18-20 mile trekking section, this trek utilized the Florida Trail.
Racers then began the paddling section from the boat drop back to Suwannee State Park Annex that served as the Start/Finish. While the paddling was straight forward some creative placement of check points made sure that racers stayed on their game. Once back to the S/F area racers mounted their bikes for a 20-25 mile ride.
The 4 Person Coed Division was won by Team Travel Country Outdoors with Team Nature Calls taking 2nd and Team Guns & Lungs 3rd. The 4 Person Male division was won by Team Primal Instinct with Team 3 Heels and a Hokie placing 2nd. The 2 Person Coed Division was won by Team U2 with Team Guybrush Threepwood getting 2nd and Team Active Cycles/OAGear taking 3rd. Team Sweet By and By took top honors for the 2 Person Female Division. The 2 Person Male Division was won by Team Semper GO with Teams Lost Lizards and Fire Power in a tie for 2nd place. The Solo Female Division was won by Active Cycles. The Solo Male Division was won by Robert Zeigler with Team Happy Hour getting 2nd place and Bill Pflueger placing 3rd.
