The race is moving from Cotopaxi towards the amazing Antisana volcano, one of the most beautiful in Ecuador. In the night, the rain and cold temperatures became worse, affecting many teams.

Teams Tame-Multifarmacias, PUCE - Rexplastic – FEUCE and Totaltek Adidas abandoned the competition. Others continued without 1 team member. At Control Point 5 (camp for many of the teams), many competitors arrived with mild hypothermia and many thought of quitting. Most of the teams decided to rest there and wait to see if weather improved.

Schick Xtreme 3 Teva from Spain was close to abandoning the competition at CP 6 because two team members had high – altitude sickness, but they decided to rest and continue. With the start of the day things improved for most teams. The sun finally appeared showing a marvelous landscape with Cotopaxi, Antisana and Sincholagua mountains visible. Conditions became much better, allowing competitors to move faster and better. Teams #4 and # 5 continue in the first 2 places, followed by teams #13 (Cordillera Equipos Cotopaxi) and # 3 (Bosi Colombia). These teams have passed CP 11, where the kayak stage starts, and are setting a really good pace. See All Event Posts
