Himalayan Challenge Marathon
Day 5; Final Stage
Jose Manuel Jimenez / 03.11.2007

Final day of The Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race and the route begins from the same place it ended on day 4; Palmajua and finishes 17 miles later in Maneybhajang. This section is once again paved road and ascends to 8555 ft through dense forests, from there it is all downhill to Maneybhajang 6600ft, through sinuous roads and at a very fast pace.Although the runners at this point have gone through so much they still fight and run as fast as they can, some make it to the finish line limping and you can see pain in their weathered faces.
Once again Emlyn David Christie from the UK took the lead and pushed all the way through the course with an impressive 2:12 hrs, leaving US Runner Duncan Larkin behind by only 3 minutes; Vincent Hua Chuan also from UK had a spectacular day coming in only 9 minutes after the leader and ever present Miguel Angel Merino had a score of 2:28hrs.See All Event Posts
