The Winners, Jarad Kohlar, Richard Mountstephens and Rob Preston. As everyone found out shortly after they finished in their public tell all the boys only came together in the week before the race, and perfomed in accordance with their individual achievments. They finished a touch over 38 hours, over 4 hours ahead of Dufflecoat Supreme and nearly 6hrs ahead of ARNuts the 1st Premier Mixed Team.
Incurring a 30 minute penalty served out at CP11 for an early breach this wasn\'t going to be an issue, for Hammer Nutrition their race didnt really start till just before TA 9 as Jarad Kohlar explained.
\"The crux of the race was the 10km climb to TA 9\" Jarad said.
The day had started out another scorcher with several teams in the Edge of Reason and Edge of Reality suffering badly due to the heat.
\"from the start fluid intake is paramount\" Jarad said after the race, our plan was to pace ourelves from the start and make a conscious effort to eat every 20 mins, not quite as easy as it sounds.
Rob Preston vouched for this as he recalled on more than one occasion that due to the lack of sleep you tended to forget when you last ate.
