Day 3, 4:00 pm

The competition is fierce between the two DART teams – they are good friends and training buddies, but today they are each other’s fiercest rivals.

DART-nuun/NW Kayaks (Glenn, Mari and Sean) are still holding the lead that they took with last night’s ace navigation move, but DART-nuun (Cyril, Jen and Rinn) are closing in. Finishing the bike section at TA5, the time difference between the two teams was four hours – by the end of the trek at TA6 DART-nuun had closed the gap to two hours.

Here at TA7, a lovely river valley surrounded by rolling hills carpeted with wildflowers, DART-nuun/NW Kayaks have been and gone. We knew that they were tired, and were expecting them in about now (4pm), but they aced this section in just over 5 hours, arriving at 2:45.

They looked good (tired of course, but you knew that already), and their talk was only about how to keep their lead. “My feet are raw, said Mari as she changed her shoes.See All Event Posts
