Baja Travesia 2008
Day 4: DART-nuun and DART-nuun/NW Kayaks have won Baja Travesia 2008.

Day 4, 9:30 amAt 9:00 this morning, after 70 hours of non-stop racing, DART-nuun’s Cyril, Jen and Rinn, and DART-nuun/NW Kayak’s Glenn, Mari and Sean crossed the finish line together in Ensenada.
These guys have just put out the most superb performance here. Both teams have made navigational mistakes which have cost them hours on the course – but they don’t stop and fight about it, they just deal with where they are now, how to move forward, and then go – truly cool, truly professional. It’s just been amazing to watch them in action.
Their lead on the rest of the pack is nothing short of incredible. As they were approaching the Finish, Yoga Slackers set out from TA7, to start the last big canyon trek. At least they are doing it by day, so hopefully will make better time on it than the DART teams did. ExtremeSports.dk and then Dancing Pandas are about an hour behind them, so the fight for third and fourth place is still very real. Mikael, Helena and Rick have really been working their way forward here – can they keep it up and catch the Yoga Slackers?
In any case, sounds like there will be no more teams across the finish line here before dark. I’ll head up to the hot springs shortly, in hopes of catching teams as they move through and also of taking a sorely needed relaxing soak there...See All Event Posts
