Day 5: EMS Exxtreme are first women’s team through the hot springs (TA8)
Jacqueline Windh / 28.03.2008

Day 5, 3:30amThe feminine powerhouses of Eastern Mountain Sports Exxtreme, Jennie, Jennie and Melissa, marched through here (TA8 at the hot springs) around midnight – so quickly and quietly that I didn’t even wake up. I hear that they are doing great – this puts them through here 7th overall, and with a strong lead over the other women’s team Hilarious.
I did wake up when the Dirty Avocadoes Too came in at 2:30 am. They all seemed to be in great spirits, but they definitely had been doing a lot of talking with the sleepmonsters! Jen had fallen into a cactus just before they got up here, and had a swarm of cactus spines in her leg, so she sat in a chair for about half and hour tweezing spines from her leg, while Adam and Adam packed and unpacked and repacked and unpacked and re-repacked their bags. Finally one of the Adams was ready to go, and he asked me, “Are you photographing all this? Hope you’re using a high shutter speed, or we’ll just be a blur. They finally got Jen to give up the tweezing, and headed out on their bikes into the darkness.See All Event Posts
