Day 5, 10am

As the rising sun started to illuminate the craggy mountain peaks surrounding our canyon, Kayak Lake Mead strolled out of the bush looking like a troop of day-hikers. We’d heard horror stories of them not looking so goo, but they looked just great. In fact, they are the only team who’s come through that didn’t even sit down – they just stood around chatting, munched on some pizza and looked at maps.

“It must be the six-hour sleep we had at the last TA, said Amy. It’s amazing what a good sleep will do on a race like this – a very good example for people to remember when entertaining thoughts of quitting on a big race.

They were soon on their way on the bikes, and then around 9am Goldrush Motherlode/Racing with Giants hiked in, also looking good and strong, but definitely ready to see the finish line.See All Event Posts
