With only a month until the start of the 6th edition of Bimbache Extrem Castilla y Leon, the start list once again contains some of the world’s top AR teams. For this popular race it\'s to be expected, especially as it is one of the qualifiers for the World Championship that will take place in Brazil this October.

From Finland comes news that the well known and successful Team Finland will be in the line-up at the Roman Acuaduct in Segovia on May 13th – but without their captain of many years Petri Forsman, who will be racing with a group of new and upcoming talent as team Multisport.fi.

Will Team Finland be successful in their battle for the title without Petri, or will Petri be able to show what a strong motivator he is, no matter who he races with?

There will also be some very successful French teams in the race, headed by Team Helly Hansen’s Karine Baillet, who were second in last year’s World Championship, and team Sport2000 Lafuma Vibram, who nearly always finish in the top five in international races.

Although its still to be confirmed the race is expecting teams from Down Under to compete this year, including the NZ team \'Hotteams\', captained by Ian Edmond and Nora Audra, who are currently working on visas and flights in order to be able to race.

And of course, the best teams of Spain have also confirmed their participation, including Teva-La Pinilla-Trangoworld, who recently won a world cup race in Portugal, as well as Gallaecia Bugarent, Buff, U.E. Vic, and Medilast Sport.

Racers are also coming from Russia, Portugal, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Chile, Germany, Brazil, Switzerland, England, Colombia and the USA.

The teams will have to undertake a route of about 465 km, and the winning time estimate by organizers is on the order of 60 hours. Teams will have up to 100 hours to complete the course.

There will be some spectacular trekking sections this year, in the high mountains – on occasion above 2200 m in altitude, as well as long and beautiful mountain biking legs through forest and alpine regions, kayaking on both lakes and rivers, short inline skating ascents, spectacular canyoning and ropeworks including: rappeling, a rope ascent of a castle, a Tyrolean traverse, and a 120m Tibetan bridge. It\'s going to be quite a race!See All Event Posts
